Intercultural competence and the capacity to act are key social and vocational skills. They represent a particular challenge in today’s societies, in which the encounter and cooperation between people with different values as well as mutual dependency are increasing. crossborder factory builds on intercultural issues in order to ensure the development, together with a network of partner organizations, of future-oriented concepts that deal in a productive manner with cultural diversity and different value systems present in our societies.

With ccCompass we offer an innovative method, in collaboration with our partner organisations, in order to help develop companies and organizations where people with different cultural backgrounds and experiences can work together productively.

Valdete Idrizi was born and raised in North Mitrovica, currently an ethnically-divided city in Kosovo. She was expelled from her home in 1999 during the war and has not been able to return since then. Despite the difficult experience of the war, Valdete has dedicated herself to the dialogue between different communities, especially Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo. For many years she has been at the head of an NGO called "Community Building Mitrovica". In 2008, she was the European Winner of the "International Women of Courage Award". In this interview, Valdete speaks about the actual state of things in Mitrovica and the work that needs to be done there.
